According to the CDC, COVID-19 is primarily spread from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.


When you're outside, it's easier to keep 6' apart and social distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Outside, air currents and wind combine to reduce airborne contaminants.

When you're inside at work, school, or even at home, you're more at risk of COVID-19 transmission due to the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) within the enclosed environment. Research from Harvard Medical School found that respiratory droplets containing infectious agents like COVD-19 can remain suspended in the air for up to 3 hours.

So how do you help prevent the spread of COVID-19 indoors?

As stated by OSHA, the EPA and CDC, there are four primary areas of focus for helping prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Why Do I Need Certified HEPA Filtration?

AirPro Solutions provides AIRBOX air filtration systems to meet OSHA, EPA and CDC recommendations for air filtration and airflow in enclosed spaces.

A core element of AIRBOX is a certified HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter. HEPA filtration is an efficiency standard developed by the US Department of energy and is used in clean rooms, laboratories and hospital operating rooms.

Certified HEPA filters must remove at least:

  • 99.97% of 0.3 micron particles

  • > 99.97% of particles less than 0.3 microns

  • >99.97% of particles greater than 0.3 microns

Only certified HEPA filters can capture mold, pollen, bacteria and viruses. These microbes can cause many respiratory problems, including COVID-19.

Beware of  HEPA-Type filters. Some filters that are paired with off-the-shelf compact air purifiers say they are HEPA-Type and do not meet the standards set by the US Department of Energy.
